Why leave the office for this

You already plan for what could go wrong. Molly lived it.

An injury ended her Olympic run. She rebuilt, and went on to run the most exclusive high-stakes poker game in the world — then lost that too, in public. What she carries out of it is a working framework for pressure, reinvention, and betting on yourself.

A framework for resilience

Not a highlight reel. A practical way to think about setbacks that applies to your business on Monday morning.

Decisions under real pressure

How to read risk, choose fast, and hold your nerve when the stakes are genuinely high and the room is watching.

A room of founders who get it

Two and a half hours with owners carrying the same weight you are — plus a reception and an optional poker table.

The afternoon

Two and a half hours, tightly run.

We’re a mile from downtown Durham and minutes from the city’s best food. Restaurant and hotel recommendations are yours on request — several guests make an evening of it.

Molly Bloom

Entrepreneur, bestselling author, host of Torched, former U.S. Ski Team

From Olympic hopeful, to LA waitress, to running a poker game with no-limit stakes north of $100 million.

Molly Bloom is an entrepreneur, bestselling author, one of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women, and host of the two-time Gold Signal award-winning podcast Torched, featuring the stories of world-class competitive athletes. She reached wider fame as the subject of Aaron Sorkin’s Oscar-nominated film Molly’s Game, based on her memoir.

With celebrity players including Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck, A-Rod and Tobey Maguire, “Molly’s Game” was a Hollywood-worthy achievement for a 25-year-old from small-town Colorado — and the public unravelling that followed is where her lessons on resilience actually come from.

And who is hosting you

EO is 18,000 entrepreneurs who learn from each other, not from advice.

We’re the Raleigh/Durham chapter of a global organization of business owners. Members meet monthly in small groups called forums and share real experience — what happened to them, not what they’d do in your shoes.

Chapter members run businesses generating $1MM to $100MM a year. If this invitation reached you, we think you’d fit the room.

Every ring is a relationship a member builds. That’s the whole idea.

“EO has provided me with a great, trusted circle of friends. I have been in a Forum for 14 years, with primarily the same 10 guys. I attribute so much of Spanx’s success to the advice I’ve received from these brilliant business owners in the trusted, confidential EO format.”

Before you register

Where exactly is it?

A private venue in Durham, NC, about a mile from downtown. We send the address and parking details with your confirmation.

Who should be in the room?

Founders, owners and controlling shareholders — EO members and invited guests. You do not need to be an EO member to attend.

Is this a sales pitch for EO?

No. You’ll meet members and can ask how the chapter works if you’re curious. Come for Molly and leave whenever you like.

What is the optional poker experience?

A friendly table during the reception, for the fun of it. No experience needed, and nothing at stake but bragging rights.

Spend an afternoon with people who understand the weight you carry.
